Dry Needling & Cupping

Medical Acupuncture (dry needling)

Western Medical acupuncture (dry needling) originally stemming from Chinese acupuncture uses fine needles to treat trigger points (muscular adhesions) within the body.

Dry needling has been proven to:

  • Reduce/control pain and inflammation
  • Improves the body’s natural recovery/healing process
  • Promotes muscle function and range of movement

Dry Needling / Acupuncture

Cupping therapy is an alternative technique that uses suction from the cups to stimulate blood flow to the area.

Benefits include:

  • Breaking down scar tissue and fascial tension
  • Increasing circulation
  • Promotes muscle tissue repair

Both techniques can be used to treat acute/chronic pain, sport specific conditions, postural/work related injuries and stress.

Katie (our sports/remedial massage therapist) offers both techniques as optional additions to her massage treatment to ensure a high level of rehabilitation for all of her clients.
